Cuisine Shaped by Tradition

Dining - The Dwarika’s

Dining as an Inheritance

Dining at The Dwarika’s is an act of continuity — meals shaped by the land, the season, and the sunlit courtyards where they are shared. From Krishnarpan's ritual of twenty-two plates to Toran's serene dining room and Mako's measured precision, each setting reflects a single philosophy: food as culture, prepared with the patience of craft.

Our Dining Venues

  • Toran all-day dining restaurant at The Dwarika's

    Toran

    • Hours: 6:30am – 10pm

At Toran, the day finds its flavour. Breakfast might begin with sel roti beside European pastries and fruit; lunch brings Nepali, Indian, and Continental plates that echo the Valley's variety; by evening, dishes from near and far are shared in the calm of the dining room or served outdoors in the Courtyard.

  • Mako's Japanese restaurant at The Dwarika's

    Mako's

    • Hours: 11:30am – 10pm

Mako's carries the name of its chef, whose discipline and detail give the room its quiet centre. Sushi and sashimi arrive with the restraint of Tokyo, but the flavours are carried by Nepal: river trout brightened with mountain herbs, greens that taste of valley soil, rice fragrant from the Terai. The setting is as deliberate as the food — an intimate dining room paired with a tranquil Japanese garden, where meals can be lingered over.

  • Fusion Bar at The Dwarika's Hotel

    Fusion Bar

    • Hours: 12 noon – 12 midnight

Once Dwarika Das's home, Fusion still carries the feel of a house lived in. Cocktails lean on Himalayan botanicals; shelves hold Nepali whiskies and raksi beside fine wines; small plates echo the flavours of the Valley. The pace is unhurried — conversations and music stretching as long as the pour, evenings unfolding beneath carved beams and low light.

  • The Courtyard al fresco dining at The Dwarika's

    The Courtyard

    • Hours: 6:30am – 10pm

The courtyards at The Dwarika’s have always been more than architecture — they are the open rooms of the house. Here, meals from Toran and Mako's are served in the air between brick and sky: breakfasts that begin with the first temple bells, lunches shaded by carved façades, dinners that gather softly under the lamps.

Dwarika's Sanctuary, Dhulikhel
Our cuisine begins not in the kitchen but in the fields, gathering the day's ingredients by hand.

From Nepali Soil to the Table

The kitchens at The Dwarika’s begin in the valleys surrounding Kathmandu, drawing from six farms where rice rises from the Terai, mustard greens thrive in winter fields, and herbs are gathered in the mid-hills. Each harvest arrives with its geography intact, shaping dishes that follow the rhythm of Nepali soil, carried whole into the heart of the city.
