Signature Himalayan Rituals
Pancha Kosha Newari Massage Therapy
Rooted in the Valley's traditional technique, this massage combines firm, deliberate strokes with oils infused with herbs such as Ajwain, fenugreek, camphor. Muscles soften, joints ease, and the skin drinks in warmth — a revival for body and spirit alike.
Kwon Jyajo — Glowing Herbal Powder Therapy
A Newari ritual of renewal once performed for girls entering womanhood. The journey begins with an oil massage infused with Himalayan herbs, followed by a powdered herbal scrub that polishes the skin and encourages lymphatic flow. Steam and a cooling face pack complete the ritual, leaving body and mind quietly illuminated.
Pancha Kosha Himalayan Singing Bowl Therapy
A personal ritual, conducted by a singing bowl master. Bowls are placed on and around the body, each position attuned to a different layer of being — from the physical to the most subtle, as the Buddhist understanding of self has always known. As the master strikes, the vibrations move inward through each layer, releasing what has settled too deep for touch alone to reach. This is not sound you listen to. It is sound you are returned by.
Pancha Kosha Signature Facial
A facial rooted in the botanical intelligence of the Himalayas. A therapist works with Vedic formulations and wild-harvested herbs from the high altitudes — ingredients that carry within them centuries of medicinal knowledge. The skin is cleansed, exfoliated, and restored not through force but through affinity — the land offering back to the body what the body already recognises.
Ancient Principles, Practised with Himalayan Clarity
Ayurvedic Journeys
Shiro-Abhyanga
An Ayurvedic head massage drawn from one of the oldest healing sciences known. Warm oil is worked into the scalp and through the hair, while the therapist traces the marma points — the vital energy centres mapped by Ayurveda across the head, neck and shoulders. What begins as physical release deepens into something quieter: a stillness of the mind that concentration alone cannot produce. Nerves settled, you leave with a clarity that arrives without effort.
Pada-Abhyanga
A grounding therapy for weary travellers. Pressure along the feet and calves activates nerve endings linked to the body's organs, improving circulation and restoring energy from the ground up.
Shirodhara
A fine stream of medicated oil is poured across the forehead in steady rhythm, easing insomnia, anxiety, and mental strain. The sensation induces profound calm — a meditative stillness between thought and sleep.
Udvartana
A stimulating full-body massage using warm herbal powders to exfoliate and invigorate the skin. The rhythmic dry massage improves circulation, breaks down fatty deposits, and leaves the body feeling light and energised.
Nasya
A purifying nasal therapy that clears the head and sharpens the senses. Warm herbal oils are gently administered through the nostrils, relieving congestion and restoring clarity to the mind.
Kati-Vasti
Warm medicated oil is held over the lower back using a dough dam, deeply penetrating the muscles and joints. The treatment eases chronic pain, stiffness, and sciatica while restoring flexibility to the spine.
Janu-Vasti
A localised oil treatment for the knees, using a warm pool of medicated oil to nourish and strengthen the joint. Ideal for those experiencing stiffness, inflammation, or age-related wear.
Griva-Vasti
Warm oil is pooled at the base of the neck and upper spine, releasing tension and relieving pain caused by stress, poor posture, or cervical conditions. A deeply restorative treatment for modern ailments.
Mukha-Lepa
A traditional Ayurvedic facial using herbal pastes to cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate the skin. The treatment balances the doshas, improves complexion, and leaves the face radiant and calm.
Elemental Healing
Himalayan Body & Energy Therapies
Himalayan Hot Stone Therapy
Sacred stones from the Kali Gandaki River are warmed and placed along marma points. The slow weight of heat releases deep muscular tension, while the engraved Buddhist mantras within the stones are believed to carry healing vibration.
Reflexology Foot Massage
Precise pressure across the soles and ankles stimulates internal balance. The treatment releases fatigue, restores circulation, and reawakens the body's equilibrium.
Aroma Therapy Facial
A facial that begins with scent and ends with skin restored. From the Sanctuary's own essential oil preparations, selected according to what your skin requires — no fixed formula, only the intelligence of the botanicals and the practitioner reading what is needed. Aromatic herbs cleanse, rebalance and lift.
Touch as Meditation
Rejuvenating Therapies
Ancient Massage
Inspired by yogic tradition, this treatment combines active pressure with passive stretches, balancing energy lines and leaving the body supple and centred.
Ayurvedic Massage
A flowing full-body oil massage that activates marma points and encourages natural healing. The warmed herbal oil eases the muscles while restoring vitality to every layer of being.
Himalayan Trekkers Massage
A restorative therapy for the physically active. Deep tissue techniques and stretching relieve stiffness, enhance circulation, and prepare the body for the next ascent or quiet descent into rest.
Aromatherapy Massage
Choose an essential oil that speaks to your mood — lemongrass to enliven, sandalwood to soothe. Guided touch and scent work together to calm both body and breath.
Traditional Foot Massage
A short yet potent treatment rooted in Nepali custom. Working from calf to heel, it revives tired legs and awakens grounded energy.
Head, Neck & Shoulder Massage
Relieves tension from travel and posture, clears the senses, and uplifts the face’s natural tone. A therapy that replaces strain with clarity.
Rejuvenating Back Massage
Focused along the spine from cervical to sacral, this massage unblocks tension and lightens the body’s central pillar — restoring ease of movement and calm.
